भारत ने ग़ज़ा में हिंसा को लेकर संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद में प्रस्ताव के पक्ष में और इसराइल के ख़िलाफ़ वोट दिया है.

भारत उन 29 देशों में से है जिन्होंने इस प्रस्ताव का समर्थन किया. पाकिस्तान ने भी इस प्रस्ताव का समर्थन किया.

सिर्फ़ अमरीका ने प्रस्ताव के विरोध में वोट दिया. प्रस्ताव के पक्ष में 29 और विरोध में एक वोट पड़ा जबकि 17 देश मतदान के वक़्त ग़ैरहाज़िर रहे.
इस प्रस्ताव को ऑर्गनाइज़ेशन ऑफ़ इस्लामिक कोऑपरेशन (ओआईसी) की ओर से पाकिस्तान ने पेश किया था.
प्रस्ताव पर बोलते हुए भारत के प्रतिनिधि ने ग़ज़ा में हिंसा में बढ़ोतरी पर चिंता जताई और तुरंत संघर्ष विराम की कोशिशों को समर्थन देने की बात कही. भारत ने इस इलाक़े के नॉन स्टेट एक्टर्स के द्वारा हिंसा पर भी चिंता जताई और कहा कि वे शांति प्रक्रिया में बाधा हैं.

'अंतरराष्ट्रीय अपराध' के मामलों की जांच

इससे पहले, संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद आपात बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार आयुक्त नवी पिल्लै ने कहा, "इस बात की संभावना अधिक है कि इसराइल ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय क़ानूनों की अनदेखी करते हुए नियमों का उल्लंघन किया हो जो युद्ध अपराध के समान है."

संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद का कहना है कि वो ग़ज़ा में इसराइली हमले के दौरान संभावित मानवाधिकार उल्लंघन के मामलों की जांच के लिए 'स्वतंत्र, अंतरराष्ट्रीय जांच आयोग' का गठन करेगी.
नवी पिल्लै ने इसराइल के इस दावे पर आशंका जताई कि उसने नागरिकों की सुरक्षा के लिए हर संभव क़दम उठाए.

नवी पिल्लै ने एक घटना का उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि एक 'भयानक' घटना में अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार क़ानूनों का उल्लंघन करते हुए इसराइल ने ग़ज़ा में समुद्र तट पर खेलते हुए सात बच्चों को निशाना बनाया.
अधिकारियों के अनुसार पिछले 15 दिनों से जारी संघर्ष में 649 फ़लस्तीनी और 31 इसराइली मारे गए हैं.
इसराइल ने 15 दिन पहले ग़ज़ा से रॉकेट हमलों को ख़त्म करने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित करते हुए ग़ज़ा में सैन्य कार्रवाई शुरू की थी.
