यहां के जमालपुर इलाके में स्थित प्राचीन जगन्नाथ मंदिर से रविवार सुबह भगवान जगन्नाथ की 137वीं रथ यात्रा कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच शुरू हुई।
सदियों पुरानी परंपरा के अनुसार, हाथियों ने पहले भगवान जगन्नाथ के दर्शन किए और रथ यात्रा की अगुवाई करते हुए शहर के विभिन्न मार्गों से गुजरे। रथ यात्रा की शुरुआत 400 साल से अधिक पुराने मंदिर से हुई। यात्रा शहर के करीब 14 किमी मार्ग से गुजरेगी।
गुजरात की मुख्यमंत्री आनंदीबेन पटेल ने रथ यात्रा के लिए सोने की झीड़ू से पाहिन्द विधि संपन्न की। इसमें भगवान जगन्नाथ के रथ के लिए मार्ग की प्रतीकात्मक सफाई की जाती है। पटेल ने टि्वटर पर लिखा आषाढ़ी दूज (हिंदुओं के माह आषाढ़ में अमावस्या के दूसरे दिन) को भगवान जगन्नाथ की रथ यात्रा की शुरुआत के लिए पहिन्द विधि संपन्न की।

भारत की शीर्ष खिलाड़ी सायना नेहवाल ने अपना शानदार प्रदर्शन जारी रखते हुए दुनिया की 11वें नंबर की खिलाड़ी स्पेन की कैरोलीना मरिन को हराकर ऑस्ट्रेलियन ओपन बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट जीत लिया है। सायना ने फाइनल मुकाबले में कैरोलीना को सीधे सेटों में 21-18, 21-11 से हराया।
       
छठी सीड सायना ने शनिवार को शीर्ष वरीय चीन की शिजियान वांग को कड़े मुकाबले में 21-19, 16-21, 21-15 से हराकर साढे सात लाख डॉलर के फाइनल में जगह बनाई थी। एक घंटे 16 मिनट तक चले सेमीफाइनल में दुनिया की दूसरे नंबर की खिलाड़ी वांग के खिलाफ बेहतरीन खेल का प्रदर्शन किया और चीनी खिलाड़ी के खिलाफ आठ करियर मुकाबलों में पांचवीं जीत दर्ज की।
       
उन्होंने इस साल सैय्यद मोदी ग्रां प्री टूर्नामेंट में खिताब जीता था।

टूर्नामेंट का अभी तक का बेहतरीन मैच

ग्रुप मैचों की बोरियत अब पीछे छूट चुकी है, फुटबॉल वर्ल्ड कप के असली रोमांच से पर्दा उठा चुका है। इसका नजारा देखने के लिए ब्राजील और चिली की जंग से बेहतर मंच और क्या हो सकता था।

हर बीतते मिनट के साथ हजारों की संख्या में स्टेडियम में मौजूद दर्शकों का शोर उन्माद की सारी सीमाएं लांघता जा रहा था। पहले निर्धारित और फिर अतिरिक्त समय में भी मुकाबला 1-1 की बराबरी पर छूटा।

और जब ब्राजील ने विश्व कप इतिहास के सबसे रोमांचक मैचों में से एक में शूटआउट में 3-2 से जीत दर्ज की तो पूरे स्टेडियम में भावनाओं का ज्वार उमड़ पड़ा।

शूटआउट में ब्राजील के लिए डेविड लुइस, मार्सेलो और नेमार ने गोल किए, जबकि विलियन और हल्क चूक गए, वहीं चिली के लिए अरांगुएज और मार्सेलो डियाज ही गेंद को गोलपोस्ट में डाल सके।

पिनिला और सांचेज के प्रयास ब्राजीली गोलकीपर ने रोक लिए, जबकि गोंजालो जारा का शॉट गोलपोस्ट से टकराकर बाहर चला गया।

 

दोनों टीमों का शानदार खेल

पहले हाफ में दोनों ही टीमों ने बेहतरीन खेल का नजारा पेश किया। नेमार के साथ स्कोलारी की टीम अटैक पर काफी खतरनाक दिखी। वहीं, चिली के खिलाड़ी भी ब्राजीली डिफेंस को भेदने का जोरदार प्रयास करते रहे।

डेविड लुइज ने पहले हाफ के 18वें मिनट में ही गोल दाग ब्राजील को 1-0 की बढ़त दिला दी। बाईं ओर से तेजी से दौड़ते हुए नेमार के एक शानदार मूव पर थिएगो सिल्वा द्वारा लगाए गए जोरदार फिल्क पर लुइज ने गोंजालो जारा को छकाते हुए गेंद को गोलपोस्ट में पहुंचा दिया।

मगर ब्राजील की यह बढ़त ज्यादा देर नहीं रही। एलेक्सिस सांचेज ने 32वें मिनट में गोल कर चिली को 1-1 से बराबरी पर ला दिया।

ब्राजील के पास 36वें मिनट में एक बार फिर बढ़त बनाने का मौका था तब नेमार के बेहतरीन हेडर से गोलजाल में जाती हुई गेंद को फ्रांसिस्को सिल्वा के शानदार प्रयास ने रोक दिया। पहले हाफ के आखिरी पांच मिनट में भी दोनों ही टीमों के पास गोल करने के मौके थे लेकिन दोनों ही टीमें चूक गईं।

 

याद किया जाएगा ये मैच

दूसरे हाफ में दोनों ही टीमों के मिडफील्ड के बीच जोरदार टक्कर देखने को मिली। दोनों ही टीमों के खिलाड़ी आपस में गेंद एक-दूसरे से छीनते नजर आए।

ब्राजील के पास 55वें मिनट में गोल करने का मौका था लेकिन गलत तरीके से गेंद छूने के कारण हल्क को येलो कार्ड दिखा दिया गया।

65वें मिनट में चिली के पास भी बढ़त बनाने का मौका आया लेकिन चिली के बेहतरीन मूव को सीजर ने शानदार तरीके से रोक लिया। 74वें मिनट में ब्राजील के पास गोल करने एक खूबसूरत मौका आया जब बाएं से हल्क के क्रॉस पर मेना आखिरी वक्त में गेंद को गोलजाल में पहुंचाने में नाकाम रहे।

  

विश्व कप: कोलंबिया ने उरूग्वे को हराया

ब्राज़ील में खेले जा रहे विश्व कप फुटबॉल टूर्नामेंट में शविवार देर रात को दूसरे दौर के दूसरे मुक़ाबले में कोलंबिया ने उरूग्वे को 2-0 से हराकर क्वार्टर फाइनल में जगह बनाई।

इस मैच में कोलंबिया और उरूग्वे के बीच पहले से ही कडे संघर्ष की उम्मीद थी। कोलंबिया ने इससे पहले शुरूआती दौर में बेहद दमदार खेल दिखाते हुए अपने तीनों मैच जीतकर पूरे नौ अंको के साथ शान से अंतिम सोलह में जगह बनाई थी।

दूसरी तरफ उरूग्वे ने पहले दौर में इंग्लैंड को 2-1 से और इटली को 1-0 से हराकर तहलका मचाया था। उरूग्वे और कोलंबिया की फीफा रैंकिंग में भी कोई बड़ा अंतर नही है। उरूग्वे फीफा रैंकिंग में सातवें और कोलंबिया आठवें नम्बर की टीम है।

मैच की शुरूआत से हो कोलंबिया ने आक्रमण करने की रणनीति अपनाई। उरूग्वे ने भी जवाबी हमले बोले लेकिन खेल के 28वें मिनट में कोलंबिया के जेम्स रोड्रीगेज़ ने बेहद शानदार गोल कर कोलंबिया को 1-0 की बढ़त दिला दी।

उन्हें गोल बॉक्स से लगभग 25 गज पहले एक मूव पर हवा में तैरता पास मिला, जिसे उन्होने अपनी चैस्ट पर संभाला और उसके बाद दमदार लैफ्ट फुटर शॉट लगाया जो गोल बार से टकराता हुआ जाल में समा गया। उरूग्वे के गोलकीपर फर्नांडो मुसलेरा पूरी कोशिश करने के बावजूद कुछ नही कर सके।

यह इस विश्व कप के सबसे दर्शनीय गोल में से एक था। मध्यांतर तक कोलंबिया 1-0 से आगे रहा और उसके बाद खेल के 50वें मिनट में रोड्रिगेज़ ने अपना और कोलंबिया का दूसरा गोल कर टीम की जीत सुनिश्चित कर दी।

इसके साथ ही रोड्रिगेज़ इस विश्व कप में अभी तक पांच गोल कर सर्वाधिक गोल करने वाले खिलाड़ी और गोल्डन बूट के दावेदार भी बन गए हैं। अब क्वार्टर फाइनल में कोलंबिया का सामना मेज़बान ब्राज़ील से चार जुलाई को होगा।

खुलकर मैदान में उतरी भाजपा

शुरुआती झिझक के बाद भाजपा शुक्रवार को मुरादाबाद के कांठ में हुए बवाल में खुलकर मैदान में उतर आई है। पार्टी के प्रदेश नेतृत्व ने अकबरपुर चेंदरी में हुई एक पक्षीय पुलिस कार्रवाई और दलित महिलाओं पर लाठीचार्ज की घटना को मुद्दा बनाते हुए कांठ में महापंचायत करने का ऐलान कर दिया है।

इस महापंचायत की अध्यक्षता खुद भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष डा. लक्ष्मीकांत वाजपेयी करेंगे और इसमें पश्चिमी यूपी के सभी सांसदों और विधायकों को पहुंचने के निर्देश पार्टी ने जारी कर दिए हैं। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कल्याण सिंह भी इस महापंचायत में हिस्सा लेंगे। भाजपा ने एक जांच दल का गठन भी किया है जो रविवार को प्रभावित क्षेत्र का दौरा करेगा।

भाजपा के क्षेत्र अध्यक्ष चौधरी भूपेंद्र सिंह और महानगर अध्यक्ष रितेश गुप्ता ने शनिवार को प्रेस वार्ता कर कांठ मुद्दे पर पार्टी के रुख की जानकारी दी। भाजपा नेताओं ने कहा कि जिस तरह जिला प्रशासन ने स्थानीय विधायक अनीसुर्रहमान और प्रदेश सरकार के एक ताकतवर मंत्री के दबाव में मंदिर के ताले तोड़कर लाउडस्पीकर उतारा और दलित महिलाओं को बेरहमी से पीटा, पार्टी उसकी कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करती है।

 

भाजपा ने बनाया जांच दल

भाजपा नेताओं ने कुछ पुलिस कर्मियों पर मंदिर से लाउडस्पीकर उतारते वक्त मूर्तियों का अपमान करने का भी आरोप लगाया है। क्षेत्रीय अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि प्रदेश अध्यक्ष डा. लक्ष्मीकांत वाजपेयी ने एक जांच दल बनाया है जिसमें उनके अलावा शामली विधायक सुरेश राणा, नूरपुर विधायक लोकेंद्र चौहान, मेरठ पश्चिम के विधायक रविंद्र भड़ाना शामिल हैं।

यह जांच दल रविवार को अकबरपुर सेंदरी गांव जाकर हालात का जायजा लेगा और प्रदेश अध्यक्ष को रिपोर्ट देगा। भूपेंद्र सिंह ने बताया कि चार जून को कांठ क्षेत्र में भाजपा महापंचायत करेगी। जिसका संयोजक कांठ के पूर्व विधायक राजेश कुमार उर्फ चुन्नू को बनाया गया है। इस महापंचायत के डा. लक्ष्मीकांत वाजपेयी, पश्चिमी यूपी के सभी भाजपा सांसद, विधायक और प्रदेश स्तर के सभी बड़े भाजपा नेता मौजूद रहेंगे।

महापंचायत के लिए तैयारियों का जिम्मा भाजपा ने हरिओम शर्मा, हुकुम सिंह, धर्मपाल सिंह, मुनीश चौहान, मंजू शर्मा, बालेचरन को सौंपा है। भाजपा का कहना है कि महापंचायत के जरिए वह मंदिर पर दोबारा लाउडस्पीकर लगाने, ग्रामीणों पर दर्ज मुकदमों को वापस लेने, अकबरपुर गांव में ही बिना इजाजत बनाई जा रही दो मस्जिदों का निर्माण तत्काल रोकने की मांग करेगी।

  

 

बंद रहे बाजार, फोर्स ने किया फ्लैग मार्च

कांठ मंदिर पर लगे लाउडस्पीकर को पुलिस द्वारा जबरन उतारने और दलित महिलाओं पर लाठीचार्ज से सुलगा कांठ शनिवार को संगीनों के साए में खामोश रहा। अलबत्ता इलाके में दहशत है और कस्बे के सभी बाजार दिनभर बंद रहे।

पुलिस, पीएसी और आरएएफ लगातार फ्लैग मार्च कर रहे हैं। बीते दिन के 19 लोगों समेत पुलिस अब तक 23 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर चुकी है। मामले में भाजपा नेताओं समेत 50 नामजद और पांच सौ अज्ञात की धरपकड़ को पुलिस ताबड़तोड़ छापे मार रही है।

उधर, घटना के विरोध में भाजपा और हिंदू संगठनों ने जिला मुख्यालय पर जोरदार प्रदर्शन कर प्रदेश सरकार के पुतले फूंके। भाजपा ने प्रदेश अध्यक्ष की अगुवाई में चार जुलाई को कांठ में महापंचायत का ऐलान करने के साथ ही रविवार को अपना एक जांच दल भी प्रभावित क्षेत्र में भेजने की घोषणा कर दी है।

  

 

महिलाओं पर लाठीचार्ज के बाद जल उठा कांठ

कांठ विधायक अनीसुर्रहमान के गांव अकबरपुर चैदरी में एक वर्ग ने पंद्रह दिन पहले मंदिर पर लगे लाउडस्पीकर को उतारने की मांग की थी। जिसके बाद पुलिस ने जबरन मंदिर के ताले तोड़कर लाउडस्पीकर उतार दिया था, विरोध करने आई महिलाओं पर लाठीचार्ज कर चार महिलाओं समेत आठ लोगों को सामाजिक सौहार्द बिगाड़ने के आरोप में जेल भी भेजा था। जिसके विरोध में शुक्रवार को कांठ जल उठा था।

पुलिस ने कांठ में हरिद्वार हाईवे पर जाम लगाकर बैठे भाजपा और हिंदू संगठनों के नेताओं को हिरासत में लिया था जिस पर बेकाबू हुई भीड़ ने पथराव कर दो सीओ समेत कई पुलिस वालों को जख्मी कर दिया था। कई वाहन तोड़ डाले थे। पुलिस ने भी करीब सौ राउंड फायरिंग की थी।

आधी रात हालात को काबू करने के बाद शनिवार को भी पुलिस ने पूरे इलाके में कड़ी चौकसी रखी। लेकिन पूरे कांठ इलाके में जबरदस्त दहशत है। चैदरी गांव से कई परिवार पलायन कर गए हैं। पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार लोगों को शनिवार को कोर्ट में पेश किया जहां से उन्हें न्यायिक हिरासत में जेल भेज दिया गया।

 

इंटेलीजेंस की रिपोर्ट में ‘फंस’ रहे अफसर

अकबरपुर चैदरी गांव में मंदिर पर लाउडस्पीकर कोई आज से नहीं बल्कि वर्षों से बज रहा है। ग्रामीणों द्वारा कोई नई परंपरा नहीं डाली गई है। इंटेलीजेंस की इस रिपोर्ट में पुलिस और प्रशासनिक अधिकारी ‘फंस’ रहे हैं। क्योंकि मंदिर से लाउडस्पीकर गैर परंपरागत बताकर उतारा गया है। शासन को जो रिपोर्ट गई है उसमें इस बात का भी उल्लेख किया गया है कि यहां दोनों वर्गों की सहमति से लाउडस्पीकर लगा था। इंटेलीजेंस के अफसरों ने शनिवार को गांव में पहुंचकर मंदिर की पुरानी फोटो इकट्ठा की हैं।

लाउडस्पीकर का विवाद पिछले करीब पंद्रह दिनों से चल रहा है। प्रशासन लगातार इसे गैर परंपरागत बता रहा है। ग्रामीणों पर लाउडस्पीकर को उतारने का दबाव बनाया जा रहा था। इसी को लेकर ग्रामीणों में नाराजगी थी। जब कोई बीच का रास्ता नहीं निकला तो पुलिस ने गांव में जाकर जबरन लाउडस्पीकर उतार दिया। बस इसी से बवाल हुआ। कांठ जल उठा। जमकर पथराव और फायरिंग हुई। तेइस लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

प्रशासन का कहना है कि ग्रामीण नई परंपरा डाल रहे थे। जबकि इंटेलीजेंस की रिपोर्ट ने पूरी कहानी ही पलट दी है। इंटेलीजेंस ने शासन को जो रिपोर्ट भेजी है उसमें कहा है कि मंदिर पर लाउडस्पीकर पिछले कई साल से बज रहा है। इस पर दोनों में से किसी भी पक्ष को कोई ऐतराज नहीं था। यह अब बीच में विवाद उभरा है। लिहाजा इसके किसी नई परंपरा से नहीं जोड़ा जा सकता है। अधिकारियों ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में मंदिर के पुराने फोटो भी संलग्न किए हैं। जिनमें मंदिर पर लाउडस्पीकर लगा है। कुल मिलाकर इस रिपोर्ट ने प्रशासन की बात को पूरी तरह से झुठला दिया है।

 

अफसरों की मुस्तैदी पर खूब हुई टिप्पणी

शुक्रवार को जो भी हुआ उसके लिए अफसर कम जिम्मेदार नहीं। सुबह से बवाल चल रहा था। जबरदस्त तनातनी थी। लेकिन पुलिस और प्रशासन के आला अफसर अपने आफिस और बंगलों में आराम करते रहे। शनिवार को मुस्तैदी दिखाई और पूरा दिन कांठ में डेरा जमाया। लोगों की जुबान पर एक ही बात थी, अगर साहब कल यह तेजी दिखाई होती तो शायद कांठ न जलता।

अकबरपुर चैदरी गांव के मंदिर से लाउडस्पीकर उतारने का विरोध शुक्रवार की सुबह से शुरू हो गया है। कांठ में हरिद्वार मार्ग पर पेट्रोल पंप के सामने धरना शुरू कर दिया गया। मंदिर पर लाउडस्पीकर लगाने, लाठीचार्ज करने वाले पुलिस कर्मियों पर कार्रवाई करने की मांग की जा रही थी। ऐसा नहीं था कि यहां मौजूद लोगों को समझाया नहीं जा सकता था। अगर जिलाधिकारी या एसएसपी शुरूआत में ही पहुंच गए होते तो मामला निपटाया जा सकता था। लेकिन किसी ने सुध ही नहीं ली।

डीएम और एसएसपी पहुंचे भी तो तब जब हालात बेकाबू हो चुके थे। खैर शनिवार को अधिकारियों ने गजब की मुस्तैदी दिखाई। कमिश्नर शिवशंकर सिंह, डीआईजी गुलाब सिंह, डीएम चंद्रकांत और एसएसपी धर्मवीर सिंह सुबह ही पहुंच गए। फोर्स को लेकर फ्लैग मार्च किया। कस्बे के असरदार लोगों के साथ बैठकर माहौल संभालने की अपील की। आला अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी का असर भी पड़ा। एक बड़ा तबका माहौल संभालने के लिए बाहर आया। लोगों को जो नाराजगी थी उसे अफसरों से बयां किया। कांठ के लोगों का कहना था कि अगर अधिकारी शुक्रवार की दोपहर को ही आ जाते तो स्थिति कंट्रोल की जा सकती थी।

कमिश्नर और डीआईजी से भी हकीकत छुपाई गई। इन दोनों अधिकारियों को सही जानकारी नहीं दी गई। दोपहर को करीब तीन बजे तक इन अफसरों को वहां के तनावपूर्ण हालातों के बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं थी। यह दोनों अधिकारी माहौल को शांतिपूर्ण बताते रहे।

चीन के राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग ने कहा है कि चीन चाहे जितना शक्तिशाली क्यों न हो जाए, पर वह कभी अपनी इच्छा दूसरों पर थोपने की कोशिश नहीं करेगा.

जिनपिंग ने बीजिंग में भारत और म्यांमार (बर्मा) के नेताओं की मेज़बानी करते हुए यह कहा.

भारत और म्यांमार के नेता 'क्लिक करें पंचशील' की 60वीं वर्षगांठ के मौक़े पर बीजिंग पहुंचे हैं. 60 साल पहले चीन ने भारत और बर्मा के साथ आक्रमण और हस्तक्षेप न करने का समझौता किया था.
चीन के कई पड़ोसी देश उसके साथ सीमा विवाद में उलझे हैं.
वो चीन के बढ़ते सैन्य खर्च को चिंतित हैं और कुछ इसे उसकी हठधर्मिता मानते हैं.
जिनपिंग ने कहा, "चीन इस धारणा से सहमत नहीं कि जब किसी देश की शक्ति बढ़ती है, तो उसे आधिपत्य जमाना चाहिए."

शांतिपूर्ण विकास

उन्होंने कहा, "आधिपत्य या सैन्यीकरण चीन के जींस में नहीं है. चीन शांतिपूर्ण विकास के लिए दृढ़ रहेगा क्योंकि यह चीन के लिए, एशिया के लिए और दुनिया के लिए अच्छा है."
उन्होंने एशिया प्रशांत क्षेत्र की सुरक्षा के लिए नई बुनियाद का आह्वान किया.
चीनी राष्ट्रपति के भाषण का मक़सद साफ़ था. वह पड़ोसी देशों को भरोसा दिलाना चाहते थे, पर यह संदेश क्या काम करेगा, यह अलग बात है.
भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति हामिद अंसारी भी मौजूद थे. भारत चीन के साथ सीमा विवाद को लेकर उलझा है. चीन के साथ वियतनाम, फिलीपींस और जापान के भी समुद्री सीमा विवाद हैं.

Hosts Brazil knocked Chile out of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in the second round with a 3-2 win on penalties.

Mauricio Pinilla and Alexis Sanchez had penalties saved, before Gonzalo Jara missed the crucial final kick.
During the game itself, David Luiz gave Brazil the lead when he bundled in after Thiago Silva had flicked on Neymar's corner.
Chile equalised when Eduardo Vargas pounced on a defensive error and fed Alexis Sanchez who poked in.
Brazil's Hulk also had a goal disallowed in the second half when English assistant referee Michael Mullarkey judged the striker to have handled Marcelo's pass.

पहली बार अंतिम सोलह में पहुँची चिली की टीम विश्वकप से बाहर हो गई.
इसके बाद पेनाल्टी शूटआउट में ब्राज़ील ने चिली को 3-2 से हरा दिया.

निर्धारित 90 मिनट में ब्राज़ील और चिली 1-1 पर बराबर रहे जिसके बाद दो बार दिया गया पंद्रह-पंद्रह मिनट का अतिरिक्त समय भी गोल रहित रहा और 120 मिनट के मुक़ाबले के बाद दोनों टीमे 1-1 से बराबर रहीं.
पेनाल्टी शूटआउट साँसे रोक देने वाला रहा. चार मौक़ों के बाद दोनों टीमे 2-2 की बराबरी पर थी लेकिन ब्राज़ील की ओर से अंतिम मौक़े पर नेमार ने गेंद गोल में पहुँचा दी जबकि चिली के ख़िलाड़ी नाकाम रहे.

Amarnath Cave Pilgrimage is an annual pilgrimage being made to Amarnath cave by thousands of Hindu devotees on challenging mountainous terrain. Located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, Amarnath cave is a famous shrine in Hinduism. It is dedicated to Shiva. The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism for some Hindus,[1] and is considered the one holiest shrines in Hinduism.[2] The cave is surrounded by snowy mountains. The cave itself is covered with snow most time of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims. Inside the 130 feet high Amarnath cave that faces south, is the Shiva Linga, which waxes during May to August and gradually wanes thereafter.[3] This lingam is said to grow and shrink with the phases of the moon, reaching its height during the summer festival.[4] According a Hindu legend, this is the cave where Shiva explained the secret of life and eternity to his divine consort Parvati.[5][6] Two other ice formations represent Parvati and Shiva's son, Ganesha. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft),[3] about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town.  View Pigeons In Holy Cave : Many pilgrims report seeing the pair of pigeons at the Holy Shrine even today and are amazed as to how these birds survive in such a cold and high altitude area   One can reach the first part of journey through: Air: The nearest aerodrome is Srinagar . Srinagar is a beautiful valley having world famous sights to see, such as Dal Lake , Nagina Lake , Shankaracharya Temple , Mughal Gardens and what not. It is the most sought after tourist place. It is also known asParadise on Earth". Srinagar is summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. There are daily flights to Srinagar from Delhi and Jammu . On some week Daysflights also pickup passengers from Chandigarh and Amritsar . Rail Jammu is the nearest Railway Station . Jammu is winter Capital of Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu is a beautiful city and is also known as "CITY OF TEMPLES ". One may visit old temples such as Raghunath Temple , Mahadev Mandir and other temples . It is well connected with all stations of India.The various trains coming to Jammu are listed here below. Road : Jammu and Srinagar are also connected through road. Buses and Taxies are also available for this part of the journey .These can be hired on daily as well as full tour basis.    Today , lets continue our teerth Yatra with the holy Amarnath yatra.We all are blessed to visit this sacred abode of Lord Shiva. Amarnath yatra is considered as the most sacred pilgrimage in the Hindu religion. The journey is of 141 km from Srinagar, the Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated at a height of 4,175m. The yatra is mainly conducted in the month of July and August every year. The yatra is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the Holy Trinity. The story narrated by people about the discovery of this Holy Cave is of a Gujjar ( shepherd) Buta Malik . He is given the credit of discovering this Holy Cave . Story goes like this , that a saint gave Buta Malik a bag full of Coal. On reaching his home when he opened the bag , to his utter surprise the bag was full of gold coins . This made him overwelmed with joy. He ran to thank the Saint . But, what he found was that the Saint had disappeared . Instead , he found The Holy Cave and Shiv Lingam there in . He announced the discovery of this to the Villagers. Then onwards this has become the sacred place of Pilgrimage . The ancient epics narrate an other story which goes like this. The valley of Kashmir was under water .It was a big lake. Kashyap Rishi drained the water through number of rivers and rivulets . In those days Bhrigu Rishi came that way on a visit to The Himalyas. He was the first to have Darshans of this Holy Cave . When people heard of the Lingam, Amarnath for them became Shiva's abode and a Centre of pilgrimage . Since then Lacs of devotees perform the pilgrimage through tough terrain and avail eternal happiness. PAHALGAM : It is 96 KM from Srinagar .This distance can be covered by car,bus or taxi. Pahalgam is known all over the world for its beauty. It is small town situated on the banks of Lidder River. It is surrounded by high mountains. All essentials can be bought here. Good Hotels are available for accommodation. However the arrangements for stay and Langar are also made by the Non Government Service Organisations. The distance from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is 16km. The route is good .It can be covered by road transport also. Mini buses are also available from Pahalgam to reach Chandanwari. The trail runs along the Lidder River . The route is scenic. Food is available here. Pilgrims camp at Pahalgam or Chandanwari on the first night . Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of Sawan (Rain). It is said that to be first to reach for darshan of Bhole Nath Shivshankar there was a war between Devtas and Rakshas . With the power of Shiv , devtas could kill the rakshas in such large number that the heap of their dead bodies has resulted in this high mountain. Beautiful View of Sheshnag Lake SHESHNAG:This second day's trek of 12 kms from Chandanwari is through Pissu Top and spectacular, primeval countryside, and reaches Sheshnag – a mountain which derives its name from its Seven Peaks, resembling the heads of the mythical snake. The Journey to Sheshnag follows steep inclines on the right bank of a cascading stream and wild scenery untouched by civilisation. The second night's camp at Sheshnag overlooks the deep blue waters of Sheshnag lake, and glaciers beyond it. There are legends of love and revenge too associated with Sheshnag, and at the camp these are narrated by campfires . The stillness of a pine scented Himalayan night increases your inner joy. Yatris can take bath and get their fatigue alleviated. It is beautiful and scenic. From Sheshnag one has to climb steep height up across Mahagunas Pass at 4276 mtrs.(14000 ft) for 4.6 KM and then descending to the meadow lands of Panchtarni at a height of 3657 mtrs (12000 ft). The last camp enroute to the Holy Cave is made here on third day. Here one faces cold winds which cause the skin to crack . Hence cold cream / Vaseline are very useful for protection of skin. Some Yatris are also effected by deficiency of oxygen .Some may get the feeling of vomiting . So dry fruit like Allu Bukhara ,sour and sweet eatables like Lemon are useful to control these symptoms . The route to Mahagunas is full of rivulets , water falls , springs . PANCHTARNI:Panchtarni is a very beautiful place in the feet of BHAIRAV MOUNT. Five Rivers flow here . It is said that the five rivers origanated from Lord Shiva's Hairs (Jataon).  Pilgrims camp at Panchtarni on the 3rd night  The Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath is only 6 kms from Panchtarni. As there is no place to stay hence the pilgrims start in the early hours of the morning after their stay at Panchtarni  Pilgrims between Panchtarni and the Amarnath Caves  Pilgrims almost at the Amarnath Caves .On the way to The Holy Cave one comes across the Sangam of Amravati and Panchtarni. Some pilgrims take bath at Amravati near holy cave to become pious before going for Darshan. Near the cave is found white soil known as Bhasam. It is the most beloved soil of Shiv ji . The pilgrims apply this Holy soil to their body and then go for Shivlingam Darshan.  View of Holy Amarnath Cave as seen from out side The trek to Amarnath, in the month of sharavan ( July–August) has the devout flock to this incredible shrine, where the image of Shiva, in the form of a Lingam, is formed naturally of an Ice Stalagmite, which waxes and wanes with the Moon's cycle . By its side are fascinating, two more Ice Lingams, that of Maa Parvati and of their son, Ganesha .  Inside View of Holy Cave  Behind the discovery of the Holy Shrine lies an interesting story. Centuries ago Maa Parvati asked Shivji to let her know why and when he started wearing the beads of heads (Mund Mala), to which Bhole Shankar replied, "whenever you are born I add more heads to my bead". Parvati said, "I die again and again, but you are Immortal. Please tell me the reason behind this". "Bhole Shankar replied that for this you will have to listen to the Amar Katha"  Shiv agreed to narrate the detailed story to Maa Parvati. He started for a lonely place where no living being could listen to the immortal secret and ultimately chose Amarnath Cave. In the hush-hush, he left his Nandi (the Bull which He used to ride) at Pahalgam (Bail gaon). At Chandwari , he released Moon (Chand) from his hairs (Jataon). At the banks of Lake Sheshnag, he released the snakes. He decided to leave his Son Ganesha at Mahagunas Parvat (Mahaganesh Hill). At Panjtarni, Shivji left the Five Elements behind (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky) which give birth to life and of which he is the Lord.  After leaving behind all these, Bhole Shankar entered the Holy Amarnath Cave along with Parvati Maa and took his Samadhi. To ensure that no living being is able to hear the Immortal Tale, he created Kalagni and ordered him to spread fire to eliminate every living thing in and around the Holy Cave. After this he started narrating the secret of immortality to Maa Parvati. But as a matter of chance a pair of pigeons overhead the story and became immortal.  View Pigeons In Holy Cave : Many pilgrims report seeing the pair of pigeons at the Holy Shrine even today and are amazed as to how these birds survive in such a cold and high altitude area  May the Swayambhu (Shiva) Lingam bless our souls with His divine darshan and shower His grace upon us to fill our lives with peace , love and contentment in our lives.
