AHMEDABAD: All's well that ends well. Zeeshan
Khan, who made national headlines after he was denied a job by a
Mumbai-based diamond firm because of being a Muslim, has decided to join
the Ahmedabad-based Adani group.
"I received about a dozen offers following the religious discrimination I had to face. My mail box is flooded with solidarity messages," says Khan, 22, who was in Ahmedabad to complete formalities at Adani's corporate office. "Among all the offers I got, this was the best," says Khan, who will join the group's Mumbai office as an executive trainee. When asked why he chose to join Adani, he said it was one of the biggest integrated infrastructure companies in the country.
"We encourage talent irrespective of caste, creed and religion. We found Zeeshan a competent candidate and hence a job was offered," said an Adani spokesperson.
In the third week of May, Khan had sent a email application to Hari Krishna Exports Pvt Ltd for a marketing job. Within 15 minutes, he received the reply: "We regret to inform you that we hire only non-Muslim candidates." Khan and his friends put out a screenshot of the mail on social media and it went viral.

Khan, who did his MBA in Mumbai, approached the Mumbai police and a case was registered against the company under section 153B of the IPC, which deals with national integration and provides for a jail term of up to three years for the guilty.
Earlier this week, Khan received a call from the HR department of Adani group. "I cleared the interview and was offered this job," he said.

'निराश' मुस्लिम युवक को अडाणी ने दी नौकरी
एक कहावत है कि अंत भला तो सब भला। यह कहावत जीशान के मामले में एकदम सही बैठती है। वही जीशान जिन्हें एक मुस्लिम होने की वजह से मुंबई की एक हीरा फर्म ने नौकरी देने से मना कर दिया था और जिसके बाद जीशान खान राष्ट्रीय सुर्खियों में छा गए थे। उन्होंने अब अहमदाबाद स्थित अदानी ग्रुप में शामिल होने का फैसला किया है।
अदानी के अहमदाबाद स्थित कॉर्पोरेट ऑफिस कुछ औपचारिकताएं पूरी करने पहुंचे जीशान ने कहा, 'धार्मिक भेदभाव वाले मामले के बाद मेरे पास एक दर्जन से ज्यादा नौकरियों के ऑफर्स आए हैं। मुझे उन सभी ऑफर्स में यह सबसे अच्छा लगा।'
अदानी ग्रुप के मुंबई ऑफिस में बतौर ऐग्जिक्युटिव ट्रेनी शामिल होने जा रहे जीशान से जब पूछा गया कि उन्होंने अदानी ग्रुप में ही शामिल होना क्यों तय किया तो उन्होंने कहा कि यह देश की बड़ी इंटिग्रेटेड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर कंपनियों में से एक है।
अदानी ग्रुप के एक प्रवक्ता ने कहा, 'हम जाति, सम्प्रदाय और धर्म से ऊपर उठ कर टैलेंट को प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। हमने जीशान को एक सक्षम कैंडीडेट पाया और इसीलिए नौकरी की पेशकश की।'
मई महीने में जीशान ने एक मार्केटिंग नौकरी के लिए हरि कृष्ण एक्सपोर्ट्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड को एक ईमेल भेजा था। जिसके 15 मिनट के अंदर ही उन्हें जवाब मिला, 'हमें खेद है लेकिन हम केवल गैर मुस्लिम कैंडीडेट्स को ही हायर करते हैं।' इसके बाद जीशान और उनके दोस्तों ने मेल के स्क्रीनशॉट को सोशल मीडिया पर डाल जिसके बाद यह वायरल हो गया।
जीशान ने बाद में मुंबई पुलिस से संपर्क किया जिसके बाद पुलिस ने कंपनी के खिलाफ आईपीसी के सेक्शन 153B के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया था। यह सेक्शन राष्ट्रीय एकता से संबंधित है और इसके तहत 3 साल तक की सजा हो सकती है।
