The results for IIT JEE (Advanced), the entrance exam for admission to the coveted Indian Institute of Technology were declared on Wednesday evening.
Satvat Jagwani from Satna, Madhya Pradesh scored 469 to top the exam. According to the statistics released by IIT-Bombay, 26, 456 candidates qualified for admission to IITs and NITs.

Now that the results are out, to qualify for IIT and ISM, the candidate should fulfill at least one of the two criteria mentioned below.

The candidate should be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in the Class 12 board examination.

OR

He/she should have secured 75% (for GEN or OBC-NCL) or 70% (SC, ST or PwD) of aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

The marks scored in the five subjects, i.e - Physics, Chemistry,  Mathematics, a language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered), and any subject other than the above four. The subject with the higher marks will be considered, for calculating aggregate marks and cut-off for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion.

There are 17 IITs in the country. The total number of seats for which JEE Advanced result have been declared are 10,006.

Apart from the IITs,  the ranks of JEE (Advanced) 2015 will also be used by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Rae Bareli (RGIPT) and Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram for admissions to their courses.

This year the cutoff for JEE (Advanced) was 105 for General candidates, much lower than that of last year at 115.
For OBC it was 70, 50 for Schedule Caste (SC) and 44 for Schedule Tribe (ST).

From the two-phases of the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE- Main Exam is for admission in Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute and National institutes of Technology and JEE- Advanced Exam is for admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), and the Indian School of Mines (ISM).

JEE-Main exam 2015 will be conducted in two manners- Offline and Online Modes. JEE-Main Offline (B.E. /B.Tech) Exam is expected to conduct on April 4th, 2015 and JEE-Main Online Exam (B.E./B. Tech.) is expected to conduct on 10th & 11th April, 2015. 2nd Paper of JEE- Main (B.Arch. /B. Planning) is supposed to be conducted on 04.04.2015.

More than 13 Lakhs candidates appeared in the JEE mains Exam 2015. Candidates who cleared their Mains exam are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Exam 2015. Online Registration for the JEE Advanced Exam 2015 will start from 2nd May to 7th May. Candidates who will clear their JEE Advanced can take admissions in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT's) and Indian School of Mines (ISM). CBSE will conduct the JEE Advanced Exam on 24th May 2015.
