Skype for web now available worldwide, don’t need to install app anymore

Skype for web is now available worldwide. Skype made the announcement via a blogpost and users can now just go to http://www.skype.com or web.skype.com to give it a try.
Earlier Skype for web beta was only available in the US and UK. Additionally those using Chromebook and Linux OS can also access Skype for Web (Beta) for instant messaging.
According to Skype’s blogpost, the list of languages supported is, “Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, English, German, Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional.”
Skype for Web’s big advantage is that if you are in office, or on a shared computer which does not have the application downloaded, you can simply sign in and do the call. Of course you will still require a Skype ID and password to log in.
Skype for Web is implementing the technology to make Real-Time Communications (RTC) on the web a reality. Users should note that on Chrome, they will need to install the Skype plug-in to make the calls.
