Staff of Red Cross Hospital in Bhopal came out in the open after feeling the earthquake tremors on Saturday.

A massive earthquake of magntitude 7.4 on the Richter scale hit Nepal capital Kathmandu on Tuesday triggering strong tremors which were felt across Delhi and other parts of north India.
The tremors were also felt in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Odisha and West Bengal and even shook buildings for nearly a minute in places as far south as Mumbai. People rushed out of offices and houses in panic.

There were reports of damages to buildings in West Bengal and Sikkim. Further details are awaited.
The US Geological Survey located the epicentre 83 kms from Kathmandu. The quake occurred at a depth of 19kms.
In Kathmandu, the quake flattened  many buildings which survived  the monster 7.8 quake of April 25.
"This is a really big one," said Prakash Shilpakar, the owner of a handicrafts shop in Kathmandu who was trying to call his parents in the town of Bhaktapur, devastated in the April 25 quake.
People in Kathmandu rushed outdoors, Reporters said. There were no immediate reports of damage to buildings. Shopkeepers closed their shops.

The quake's epicentre was close to Everest Base Camp, which was evacuated after an avalanche triggered by the April 25 quake killed 18 climbers. Mountaineers seeking to scale the world's tallest peak have called off this year's Everest season.

The April 25 earthquake in Nepal killed more than 7,800 people and injured thousands more. The government figures show that tens of thousands of houses have been demolished and assistance is immediately needed for 400,000 families.
The UN estimates that as many as 8 million people have been affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

दिल्ली समेत उत्तर भारत के कई हिस्सों में भूकंप के झटके महसूस किए गए। भूकंप का केंद्र काठमांडू के निकट है।



उत्तर और पूर्वी भारत के कई हिस्सों में कुछ देर पहले भूकंप के झटके महसूस किए गए.






नेपाल में मंगलवार को फिर एक ज़ोरदार भूकंप आया जिसके झटके भारत के कई हिस्सों में भी महसूस किए गए.
इस भूकंप का केंद्र नेपाल में माउंट एवरेस्ट के नज़दीक नामचे बाजार इलाके के पास था.
अमरीकी भूगर्भ सर्वे ने रिक्टर स्केल पर भूकंप की तीव्रता 7.4 बताई है.
भारत में इस भूकंप के झटके उत्तर प्रदेश, राजधानी दिल्ली, पश्चिम बंगाल और बिहार के विभिन्न हिस्सों में महसूस किए गए.
इससे पहले नेपाल में 25 अप्रैल को 7.8 तीव्रता का भूकप आया था जिसमें बड़े पैमाने पर तबाही हुई थी.
नेपाल में इस भूकंप से सात हजार से ज़्यादा लोग मारे गए थे जबकि भारत में मरने वालों की संख्या 60 के आसपास थी.
